Reservoir
Spillway Access Site
Location: The Reservoir Spillway is
located on CR 400 E. Preferred creek access is available
at the SE corner of the road and the river (upstream of
the bridge on the right bank). Alternate creek access
is available at the NE corner of the road and the river
(upstream of the bridge on the right bank).
Parking: There is room for 5-10 vehicles
north of the bridge, along the narrow east shoulder of
CR 400 E. Do not park in front of the gated, paved path
to the river south of the bridge.
Path to River: The preferred path to
the river follows the gated, paved road segment at the
SE corner of the bridge over the river. Upon turning into
the woods the paved path becomes a gravel path. To the
left of the gravel path are several spots to put in boats.
The best spot is close to/under the bridge. (A side note:
this gravel path is the path used to portage from the
reservoir to the creek.)
The alternate path to the river (at the NE corner of
the bridge) is definitely not ideal. It is best to lift
boats over the guardrail then carry them down steep, rocky
terrain along a rutted path to the river.
River Access: There is room to load
4-5 boats at a time along the gentle rocky bank.
