North Fork Lower Valley: Burlington to Adams Mill | Adams Mill to Knop Lake | Knop Lake to Mis-So-La | Mis-So-La to Wildcat Park | Wildcat Park to Peters Mill | Peters Mill to Davis Ferry

River Features: You will pass under 2 bridges on this trip: the CR 500 E bridge, and the CR 350 E bridge.

The Wildcat Valley in this area is scenic and historic. Adam's Mill, located adjacent to the public fishing area, is an authentic water-powered mill constructed in 1846. The mill race leading to the mill is on the left bank just before the dam and immediately upstream of the public fishing area.

Before reaching the Adam's Mill dam, canoeists will begin to notice the calmer mill pond water. Canoeists should avoid the dam and portage on the left bank, following the path through the public fishing area back to the creek.

It has been recommended that this section of the river should be canoed only during higher flow. However, remember that only experienced canoeists should canoe during higher flow.

Hazards: Watch out for tree falls and log jams in this section. Otherwise, this stretch of the creek is generally easy canoeing.

Important: The river is constantly changing. Hazards like log jams and tree falls will come and go, so always be ready for them. Riffles will appear and disappear based on water flow levels. Do not attempt boating on this or any river during high water. Please be safe, respectful and responsible on the river.
